RAAF Pearce and HMAS Stirling
Price Trandos was approached by Royal Australian Air Force’s Base Pearce to design Substation Kiosks. It is primarily home to No 2 Flying Training School and No 79 Squadron. The Republic of Singapore’s No 130 Squadron is also based at Pearce.
Project Restriction and Issues
Due to the nature of the project, Raaf Pearce requires the boards to be easily transportable or relocatable with minimum effort.
The switchboard design must have equal weight distribution for easy lifting. In addition, in the event of failure/maintenance, a system of containment for oil spillage is required.
Price Trandos Engineering was contacted as the premier custom manufacturer. Through collaboration and valued engineering, we were able to redesign and build a switchboard which incorporates the following technology;
* Positioning transformer for centre of gravity
* Full weld bath for oil containment
Which enabled our client to supply a fully compliant and fit-for-purpose board that is easily transportable.
